Wilson County Emergency Services District No. 1 utilizes the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC) for inspections and plan reviews concerning all new commercial, multi-family residential, subdivisions and RV Parks and lodging communities within District 1 Fire & Rescue’s service area, excluding the city limits of La Vernia.

Projects which submit building plans on, or after, May 13, 2022 will be expected to comply with the 2021 International Fire Code and the standards referenced by the 2021 IFC. This will include compliance with nationally accepted standard of the 2018 edition of NFPA 22, 2020 edition of NFPA 25, 2022 edition of NFPA 24, and 2017 edition of NFPA 1142.
All plans for all new commercial, multi-family residential, subdivisions, RV Parks and lodging communities and any substantial renovation of the same, must be submitted and approved prior to any work being done.
